. I want you to see exactly what you are getting; therefore, I deemed it necessary to do nothing to this saw with preparing it for sale. I think just the way it is, is a work of art in itself. There is some very light and even surface rust (should easily clean up if so desired), has on back side of the blade a mark made with black marker, black marker "F" written on wood handle, and the wood handle...just noticed it now....has a small fine crack with the hole that houses the bottom brass screw (very minor and hardly even noticed). I counted 8 teeth per inch and the blade is overall 22 1/4" long and the saw is overall 25 1/2" long. I have been in the antiquing business for over 30 years and have seen countless of these Disston saws. First of all, it is difficult to find them in this nice of condition when they get this old. It is very difficult to read any markings on the blade, that is, if you can read them at all. After receiving this saw, I was very much surprised to not only be able to read the markings on the blade, but elated by what I read. This is a very special saw, it was made for one (or two??) specific organization(s). The first, and main center mark, reads: "THIS SAW IS MADE EXPRESSLY FOR THE MANUAL TRAINING SCHOOLS BY HENRY DISSTON & SONS PHILADELPHIA." Now, I do not recall ever seeing a second marking on a saw like this before. But the second marking (closest to the handle) reads: "MADE EXPRESSLY FOR CHANDLER & BARBER CO...has company logo....BOSTON." This is truly an extraordinary saw and thankfully it still looks beautiful. P
