Star-Rite Universal Vibrator - late 19-teens - Fitzgerald Mfg. -early version

Fitzgerald Mfg. Co., Torrington CT.
Box shows wear but overall quite good with some soft rubber residue inside. The vibrator unit looks great with most all of its original chrome.and wonderful wood handle.  Can't test because old cord has broken off. Typical of the older things with visible screws, however, it's easy to see how to replace the cord. The soft rubber attachments have fallen apart but the black, hard one still looks good.
This unit is from the earliest era of production - late 19-teens. By the early 1920's the "long nose" design for the unit had been abandoned for a flat surface where the attachments went. When this unit was made Fitzgerald Mfg was only making in their appliance line 2 basic fan designs, an early hairdryer, a S.M. Motor and this Universal Vibrator. During the 1920's they expanded their line of appliances a lot.
