CARTE DE VISITE (CDV) PHOTO FEATURING TWO YOUNG MEN AND A DISPLAY WITH A SIGN: "CALEDONIAN NATIVE CURIOS."
This has more a feeling of a museum display than a vendor stand selling objects, but who knows? What we do know is that this is a fabulous CDV.
No maker mark.
SIZE. Approximately 4 x 2 7/16 inches.
CONDITION. Photo: Scratches and creases, which are more apparent when tilted. One of the creases, at left edge, has started to tear and has the tiniest bit bent upwards, exposing a bit of the back. Tiny bit of emulsion loss at upper left corner. Tiny bit of emulsion loss at center of left edge. Missing lower left corner tip. Tiny spots and specks. When tilted, a few larger dark spots are apparent at lower right. Mount: Wear at top corners. Light wear at bottom corners. Front has some foxing, a few spots, and some soiling. Back has heavy foxing, a few spots, some soiling, and a piece of old paper affixed at bottom.
APPEARANCE. Exceptionally deep and rich tones. Lots of details. Great poses and composition. Superb content.
