    Description

    This 28 inch 4 1/2 ppi rip saw has an early type etch, L. WHEELER 20 MIDDLETOWN NY SPRING STEEL WARRANTED. The plate has a gentle bow down the length but no doubt a saw Dr. could have this thing singing like new, and at over 7 1/2 inches at the heel it is near new size. The L. Wheeler medallion has an 1869 patent date and a really cool, detailed, old school Federal Eagle. This would be the Wheeler in the Wheeler, Madden, and Clemson and tied in with Bakewell as well, a big figure in early American saw manufacture. The split nuts show by the sanding marks they have never been turned but the handle is tight to the plate.
