    Disston Split Nut Compass Saw 1874-75

    An early saw with a nice trade disc that has no ring of stars. The disc is illustrated on the Disstonian website as being the last of the split nut type. Disc is 13/16ths in diameter. The majority of the original varnish is still present. The front and back of the applewood handle were never varnished. The tip is missing a very short piece, the blade is incised in tiny letters H.Disston & sons Philada.
