On the back of the photo there is an inscription:
"Alfred Lorens."
For his work, Alfred Lawrence has received awards at many exhibitions.
In 1862, at the World Exhibition in London, he presented photographic portraits and stereoscopic
views of the environs of St. Petersburg. In 1870, at the All-Russian Manufacturing Exhibition held in St. Petersburg,
the photographer was awarded a silver medal for "impeccable conscientious performance of both portraits and views,
and for the desire to give portraits a picture interest in a meaningful pose".
